XRPtalk
Dear FranceRipple,XRPtalk is now definitively closed.
This incredible adventure has thus come to an end!
I have neither the time nor the energy to maintain the forum alive anymore.
It's really not easy to try to maintain a such community being a bit alone.
You have to participate to the debates, to moderate, to make the sysadmin part.
It takes you about 2-3 hours per day just with a few thousand members.
When you have a full time job aside and a beautiful family, you need to find a great motivation to continue.
I have no more this motivation for building a Ripple community.
Over time I lost it with the lack of Ripple Labs involvement in the communities,
their lack of communication and their opaqueness. I don't think it will evolve in the future.
I tried several times to make RL react about various subjects on our forum without success.
It's pretty hard to keep building a community without having the major actor involved.
I failed and surely made several mistakes too, that's life!
Our community no longer grows since 1 year, it's always the same 50-100 users hanging all the day on the forum.
Without a real participation of Ripple Labs, I think we often turn loop in our questions.
Opinions are often cleaved between members. It's pretty hard to make some constructive critics or just to express a different opinion without having tons of harsh remarks.
A community is not a lobby or a fan club but more an open-minded place where everyone can discuss peacefully.
Most members can only find a consensus on news that can make their XRP stack grows.
That's not really what I dreamt when I was building a such community, that's also why I prefer to stop this experience.
Before turning the page, I would like to thank all the members who helped me during this great adventure, specially during the first year.
A big thanks to all the moderators and the administrators!
Thanks to all the great contributors and for the time taken to put some content on the forum or to organize fun giveaways!
I am also grateful to all the donators that helped me to pay the costs for this last year. Without you, It may have finished sooner.
It was a pretty exciting experience. I made some great friends online during these 2,5 years and I hope to stay in contact with them.
I wish you all the best.
Good luck for the future.
Hurukan
PS: The forum will be in a read only mode for a few weeks, then it will close definitively.
You can migrate on the official forum if you want to make it revive.
